At 18:46 on Wednesday, 14 August, 2019, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Water Rescue in Shrewsbury.

5 fire appliances including the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Baschurch, Shrewsbury and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

One male who jumped into the river was assisted to safety by Fire Service Swift Water Rescue Technicians (SRT's). Police and Ambulance were also in attendance,

One saloon vehicle left road and came to rest in a ditch. 4 causalities treated on scene by Paramedics. Fire Service stabilised the vehicle.
