At 01:38 on Saturday, 20 April, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting that a Road Traffic Collision had taken place in Shrewsbury.

4 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Church Stretton, Shrewsbury and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to deal with the incident:

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

RTC involving one HGV and one saloon vehicle. Car has been made electronically safe and road is now open in both directions. Incident has been left with Police

At 21:20 on Friday, 19 April, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Covering jet
  • Hosereel jet
  • Oxygen first aid
  • Thermal imaging camera

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

Fire in kitchen on ground floor of terraced property. Crews used 2 hosreel jets and 1 covering jet whilst using breathing apparatus. Positive pressure ventilation used to ventilate the property. Casualty in care of ambulance crews.

At 12:09 on Tuesday, 16 April, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Smell Of Gas in Shrewsbury.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Shrewsbury.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service .

Accumulation of of fumes from diesel generator within pride hill shopping centre service area with Carbon Monoxide levels detected. Multiple checks carried out using gas monitor and readings having now returned to zero and shopping centre reopened. Casualties have all been assessed by ambulance service.and no further action carried out by Fire Service Personnel.

Reports of a lady on the bridge threatening to jump.1 casualty was left in the care of ambulance and police no fire service action was required. Casualty did not enter the water.
