At 10:32 on Monday, 28 March, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Ellesmere.

7 fire appliances including the Heavy Pumping Unit were mobilised from Baschurch, Ellesmere, Prees, Wem and Whitchurch. Operations, Hazmat, Fire Investigation and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Environment Agency.

Fire involving large quantity of plastic in recycling building. Six breathing apparatus, four main jets and two hose reel jets in use. Crews turning over and damping down pile good progress being made

Smoke and flames issuing from property, crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet, with a covering jet to extinguish the fire. Then used positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the property
