At 18:15 on Tuesday, 11 July, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Shrewsbury.

4 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch, Hodnet, Shrewsbury, Telford and Wellington. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet

1 steel frame barn 40m by 80m fully destroyed by fire.

• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service .

Large barn 60m x 30m fire involving approx 20 tonnes of straw, hay and farm machinery.
