At 22:15 on Thursday, 16 May, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Minsterley and Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet
• Main jet
• Positive Pressure Ventilation

Fire involving electricity consumer box. All persons accounted for. Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet, and 1 main jet to extinguish fire. Positive pressure ventilation used to clear smoke logging.

Fire involving bedroom of property. Crews used 4 breathing apparatus' and 2 hose reel jets used to extinguished.

Incident involves one kettle which was left on hob. Fire was out on arrival of crews. Positive pressure ventilation fan in use to clear smoke logging within flat.

Trewern Avenue Oswestry

At 18:02 on Saturday, 4 May, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Oswestry.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Ellesmere and Oswestry. Operations and Fire Investigation officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Covering jet
• Hosereel jet
• Positive Pressure Ventilation
• Thermal imaging camera

Fire in kitchen of domestic property caused by tumble dryer. Crews used 2 hosereel jets and 1 covering jet whilst wearing breathing apparatus. 1 dog rescued from the property. Crews then ventilated the property using positive pressure ventilation and thermal imaging cameras to check temperatures within the property were safe.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Covering jet
• Hosereel jet
• Positive Pressure Ventilation

Fire in kitchen involving cooking. Crews extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet. Positive pressure ventilation using to clear smoke logging. All persons accounted for, and one dog rescued.

Fire in flat caused by air fryer. Crews used 1 hosereel jet and a covering jet to extinguish the fire and a positive pressure ventilation fan to assist in ventilating the property. 1 casualty assessed by ambulance crews.
