Large tree collapsed onto property bringing down power cables. Crews made property safe for occupier to stay in property using small gear. Issue of loose power cables has been reported to National Grid.

At 19:08 on Saturday, 7 December, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting that a Road Traffic Collision had taken place in Much Wenlock.
3 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Much Wenlock, Telford Central and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.
Crews used the following equipment to deal with the incident:
Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.
One vehicle damaged by fallen tree and one casualty medically trapped. Crews used cutting gear and passer by assisting in clearing debris. Casualty has been released from the vehicle and is in the care of ambulance crews. Road is blocked by vehicle. Police in attendance for road closure and traffic management.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Prees and Whitchurch. An Operations officer was in attendance.
Crews used the following equipment to deal with the incident:
Also at the scene of the incident were: the Police.
Two vehicles involved in RTC with one person mechanically trapped. Crews used small gear to release casualty from the vehicle. Crews have isolated both vehicles which require recovery from A49. Incident left with Police for traffic management and road closures.

Report of a metal shed which had hit gas tanker due to high winds relocating shed. Crews dismantled the shed and placed in a safe area away from the wind.

Report of tree which had fallen onto moving vehicle. No persons were trapped in this incident and crews used a reciprocating saw to remove tree away from vehicle and road with assistance of Police. Vehicle has been made electrically safe by crews using small gear. Road has been cleared and is open in both directions.

Two vehicles involved in RTC. Crews administered first aid to casualties until ambulance crews arrived. Crews made scene safe and made both vehicles electrically safe. Ambulance crews have taken casualties to hospitals. A49 congested in both directions.
