At 17:50 on Friday, 17 February, 2017, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Adney Road, Newport.

5 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Newport, Shrewsbury and Wellington. Operations and Fire Investigation officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Agricultural building involved in fire, 6 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets and thermal imaging camera in use.

1 barn fire approximately 100x30m in size containing 3 vehicles and farm machinery. Approximately 100 tonnes of straw fully involved in fire. 2 hose reel jets currently in use

4 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury and Tweedale. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Fire involving small quantity of cut logs inside log store, one hose reel jet and drag hooks in use, logs being removed to outside of building. Area checked with the thermal imaging camera.

Crews were called to reports of a barn fire, this is believed to be a false alarm caused by a controlled burning.

At 03:25 on Saturday, 5 November, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Nr. Telford.

7 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Cleobury Mortimer, Ellesmere, Hodnet, Much Wenlock, Oswestry, Prees, Shrewsbury, Wellington and Whitchurch. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Main jet
• Open water supply
• Portable pump

Fire involving the contents on one barn containing farm machinery and timber which is well well alight. 4 main jets in use. This is a protracted incident with 4 crews in attendance. Crews using water supplied from local open water source and from hydrants. No further details at this time.
