Fire involving 100% of coach. 4 breathing apparatus and 2 hose reel jets in use to extinguish fire. Thermal imaging camera used to check for any remaining hot spots.

At 09:03 on Sunday, 24 April, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Coach Fire in Nesscliffe.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Baschurch and Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Hosereel jet

Fire involving overheating brakes on 52 seater coach. Four breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets used. Crews are continuing to cool the tyres whilst awaiting heavy vehicle recovery, the road remains partially blocked until then.
