At 05:59 on Tuesday, 18 February, 2020, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Water Rescue in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances including the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Baschurch and Wem. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

1 person threatening to jump into river but subsequently taken into police care
