The Community Outreach Vehicle will be in Festival Square Oswestry with the Oswestry Local Policing Team, to make people aware of the increase in the number of deliberate fires in the Oswestry area.

Residents of a Telford estate are being urged to attend a safety roadshow run by the emergency services and The Wrekin Housing Trust on Thursday.

Police are investigating a deliberate attempt to set an Oswestry home on fire while four people were inside.

A senior detective appealed for information to help identify the arsonists following the incident at a house in Maple Court shortly after 1am today.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service notified the police at 1.18am they were attending the fire.
Two adults - a man and a woman - and two children aged three and a three-month-old baby, escaped without injury.

Shropshire company bosses are being urged to attend an open day at their local fire station to get important information about their legal obligations for fire safety at business premises.

A series of two hour workshops are being held across the county in May by fire safety officers at Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.

West Mercia Police have launched an investigation into arson attacks on seven cars during the early hours of today (27th April). Three further incidents of criminal damage to vehicles and a burglary are also being linked.

At 11.46pm on Wednesday 27th April, firefighters were called to a report of a vehicle fire at a unit on Halesfield 14, Telford.

Two skip lorries were completely destroyed by fire. The fires are being treated as suspicious and Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service fire investigators are working with West Mercia Police.
