A company operating in Shropshire is falsely offering free security and fire alarm systems with an installation charge stating their smoke alarms are linked to the local fire station, revealed Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.

"This is not the case. The only fire alarm systems that perform this function are auto dialling systems which go to alarm call centres," said Fire Crime Officer Derek Taylor.
