Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service have attended another report of a wheelie bin fire at 8.47pm on Wednesday 10th April 2013 on Woodrows, Woodside, Telford. The wheelie bin was deliberately set on fire.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service have attended five wheelie bin fires on Woodside since February 2013.

Our advice is always store wheelie bins well away from the front of property’s, and only put out bins on the day of collection.

On 31st March Stu Rushton from Green Watch, Telford shattered the Guinness World Record by running the Ironbridge half marathon in full fire kit in 2hrs 00mins 47secs. Stu wanted to say thankyou to Alec Thomas, from his watch, for running ahead of him videoing the whole event.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service have been called out on seven occasions since the end of February to grass fires around the area of the underpass in Whitchurch Drive, Wellington.

All of the fires have been started deliberately and on occasions there have been multiple seats of fires.

Whilst fire crews are dealing with these fires they are unable to respond to more serious fires or accidents.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service attended a report of a wheelie bin fire at 8.25pm on Tuesday 19th March 2013 in Waltondale, Woodside, Telford.

The wheelie bin was set on fire at the front of the property and caused fire and smoke damage to the door and porch area. Firefighters from Telford Central and Tweedale attended and entry was forced to the property as initial reports suggested that the occupants were inside the property.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service attended a report of a car fire in Church Street, Hadley at 1.05am on Saturday 2nd March 2013.

One appliance from Wellington attended the fire which involved a silver Audi A4 saloon.

The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service attended a report of a jet ski and trailer on fire at 9.54pm on Sunday 3rd March 2013 at an area known as Sweet Apple Tree, Wistanswick near Market Drayton.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service are working together with West Mercia Police looking into the possibility that the jet ski was stolen from the Dawley area of Telford between 10pm on the 2nd and 8am on 3rd March.
