The Safer Roads Partnership in Warwickshire and West Mercia is warning motorists in the region to take extra care on the roads over the weekend as temperatures are set to plummet. A 22 year old man from Leegomery, Telford was convicted of seven counts of arson and one of arson recklessly endangering life following a trial at Shrewsbury Crown Court.
The man was sentenced to five and a half years imprisonment at Shrewsbury Crown Court on 20th December 2012.
The offences relate to incidents involving vehicles in the Hadley and Leegomery area of Telford in the early hours of April 6th last year.

A man was today confirmed to have died in a severe fire which completely destroyed his Shropshire bungalow.
A total of 40 firefighters from three fire and rescue services were called to the property in the village of Alveley, near Bridgnorth, yesterday.
Multiple 999 calls were made by neighbours at around 3.30pm (Wednesday, December 12th) as fire took hold in the 15 metre by 10 metre detached bungalow at Millfields, Birds Green.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service have attended ten incidents in the last month in the Sutton Hill area of Telford, involving wheelie bins and commercial wheelie bins.
The majority of the incidents have been in the Skate Park and around the Sutton Hill Centre between 4.30pm and 8.40pm.
We are urging people to secure wheelie bins at the rear of properties and only put the bins out on the day of collection.
