Under the Freedom of Information Act, I would like to know how many full-time firefighters (all operational crews) your Fire & Rescue Service currently employs and how many of those firefighters are registered as having second jobs outside of their main employment in your Fire & Rescue Service. Would you please include a breakdown of what roles such firefighters are carrying out as second jobs, for example, taxi driver, door supervisor, carer, paramedic and so on?

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request. Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service currently employs 128 Full-time firefighters (Operational crew), 39 of which have registered secondary employment either self-employed or employed.

A breakdown of the roles are as follows:

Gardener, Cleaner, General Maintenance, Builder, Driver, Event Safety, Labourer, Mechanic, Driving instructor, Home Improvement, Carpenter, Marshalling, Retained firefighter, Bearer, Foster Carer, Climbing instructor, Bar person, Painter & Decorator, Window Cleaner, Handyman, PATO, Taxi Driver, Plastering & Tiling, Route Setter, Professional Angler, Electrician, Outdoor instructor, Bricklayer, Chaperone, Photographer, Fitness Trainer.
