At 18:16 on Saturday, 11 October, 2014, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as House Fire in Shrewsbury.
3 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Shrewsbury.
Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Covering jet
- Electric Saws/Cutters
- Hosereel jet
- Short extension ladder
- Small gear
- Thermal imaging camera
Fire in chimney of 3 storey house which spread to roof space timbers. 1 hose reel jet used to extinguish and 1 covering jet on standby. Crews will be on scene some considerable time as hotspots located in roof space and joists. Akro prop being used to stabilise large beam. Snake eye camera, thermal imaging camera and cutting away equipment also in use.

1 male rescued 1m below ground in concrete footings 2 Breathing Apparatus and ladders in use. Police and Ambulance in attendance.
