At 18:37 on Monday, 7 May, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting that a Road Traffic Collision had taken place in Ryton XI Towns.

4 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Baschurch, Oswestry and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Fire Control took a call to and RTC where it was belived there were person trapped. When the first crew, from Baschurch booked in attendance it was identified that all passengers had self released prior to arrival. No action by Fire Service Personnel

At 20:20 on Saturday, 14 May, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Chimney Fire in Baschurch.

3 fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform were mobilised from Baschurch and Oswestry. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • 9/10.5m ladder
  • Chimney rods
  • Hosereel jet
  • Thermal imaging camera

Chimney Fire involving Log burner, 9 Metre Ladder Roof Ladder and Line safety in use. 1 hose reel jet and Thermal image camera also being used

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Albrighton and Telford Central. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Highways Agency.

Special Service Call to a traditional caravan being towed on a trailer which had become unstable. No Fire Service action undertaken. Incident left in care of Highways Agency.

Road Traffic Collision involving 2 cars 1 person released before arrival 1 person released by FRS personnel using Hol Matro cutting gear. Both to hospital by ambualnce

Automatic Alarms sounding - False alarm aparatus

Smoke alarms cost as little as £5 and are available at most DIY stores. It is recommended that smoke alarms should be fitted on the ceiling one per floor and they should be 30cm away from walls or light fittings (Usually top and bottom of stairs). Smoke alarms should be tested weekly by pressing the button to briefly activate the alarm. Change the battery once a year (unless it's a ten year alarm) and gently vacuum the alarm twice a year to remove dust from the sensors.
