At 17:11 on Friday, 31 March, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Water Rescue in Bridgnorth.

3 fire appliances including the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury and Telford Central. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

Reports of a canoe floating down the river. Search carried out and boat hire staff spoken to who confirmed this canoe had been missing since Sunday. This incident was a false alarm - all crews stood down.
