At 16:09 on Friday, 17 July, 2020, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Water Rescue in Danesford.

4 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit and the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury and Tweedale.

Attending crews used the following equipment:

• Short extension ladder

One male stranded with canoe approx 5ft from waters edge has been rescued from river by fire crews

4 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to deal with the incident:

• Cutters/Spreaders

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.
