At 22:33 on Friday, 31 May, 2019, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Oswestry.

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Ellesmere and Oswestry. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Electric Saws/Cutters
• Hosereel jet
• Main jet
• Small gear
• Thermal imaging camera

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Police.

Fire involving a container measuring approximately 3m x 2m 100% involved in fire.

• Knapsacks

One field approximately 2 acres in size 50% involved in fire. Crews using beaters and knapsack sprayers and fogging system to extinguish.
