At 19:41 on Sunday, 12 May, 2019, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Water Rescue.
4 fire appliances including the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Shrewsbury, Telford Central and Tweedale. An Operations officer was in attendance.
Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.
Reports of upturned canoe in River Severn. No persons with canoe. Crews carried out a thorough search on foot, as well as searching the river using the rescue boat. Joint search with West Mercia Police.

One person rescued by Fire Service personnel from second floor flat. Two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one covering jet used to extinguish fire.
