Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

Fire in kitchen crews used 1 hose reel jet and 2 breathing apparatus to extinguish fire - 1 person rescued prior to arrival of fire service

  • Hosereel jet

Crews from Bridgnorth and Cleobury Mortimer have dealt with a kitchen fire using 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets and a covering jet. All persons accounted for. British Red Cross Emergency Response team now en route to assist occupiers.

House Fire

At 11:02 on Friday, 16 February, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as House Fire in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Door opener
  • Hosereel jet
  • Positive Pressure Ventilation

Kitchen fire involving cooker ring left on. Two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet used to extinguish the fire. Positive pressure ventilation used to clear smoke logging.

Smoke alarms cost as little as £5 and are available at most DIY stores. It is recommended that smoke alarms should be fitted on the ceiling one per floor and they should be 30cm away from walls or light fittings (Usually top and bottom of stairs). Smoke alarms should be tested weekly by pressing the button to briefly activate the alarm. Change the battery once a year (unless it's a ten year alarm) and gently vacuum the alarm twice a year to remove dust from the sensors.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Environment Agency, the Police and Shropshire Council.

Incident involving a chemical spillage from articulated vehicle.
