Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service are asking rural communities to be vigilant following a barn fire at Sparchley Farm, Culmington, near Ludlow. The cause of the fire has been confirmed as deliberate following the report of the fire at 8.54pm on Monday 21st January 2013. Crews from Craven Arms, Ludlow, Clun and Shrewsbury attended the scene.
The risk of arson can be reduced by:-
- Maintain good standard of security for all outbuildings
- Prevent easy access to fuel and chemical storage areas
- Repair or replace damaged fencing or gates
- Install intruder sensors and security lighting
