Police Joint Working at Newport Fire Station

Shropshire Fire and Rescue is always looking for new ways to work collaboratively with the other “blue light” services and Newport Fire Station is where the latest initiative has been unveiled.

SFRS has agreed to provide Newport’s local police officer and PCSOs with “hot desk” facilities at the fire station. Whilst it is important to stress that the fire station is not being used as a traditional police station, it will provide police officers with office facilities in the centre of the town. “It is a good example of how collaboration between the emergency services can deliver real benefits to local communities,” said an SFRS spokesperson.
