Two cars damaged in Shrewsbury arson attack

Police in Shrewsbury today issued a witness appeal following an arson attack in which £19,000 damage was caused to two cars in a pub car park.

The incident happened at around 10pm Sunday 7th August 2011, at the back of the Albion Vaults pub just off Chester Street.

Police Constable Lee Saunders, the investigating officer, said today: "Two young males with slim builds, wearing black hooded tops, were seen running away from the location towards Coton Hill at the time of the fire.

"I am appealing for information from anyone who might have seen something suspicious relating to this incident, or which can help in identifying the offenders."

He said a red BMW in the car park at the rear of the pub was targeted and set on fire. The flames spread to a black BMW and a total of around £19,000 was caused to the two vehicles.
