Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service was called at 3.35am to reports of a fire in a care home in Oswestry.
Crews from Ellesmere, Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Tweedale attended and found the fire was in the roof space of the building. All residents and staff were safe an accounted for and firefighters began tackling the blaze and safely evacuating the premises.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used hose reel jets, a main jet, covering jet and dry powder extinguisher to tackle the fire.
SFRS were assisted at the scene by the ambulance service, police and North Wales Fire Service.
The fire was under control by 7am and a fire investigation is now underway to determine the cause of the incident.
