Bright sparks from eight Shropshire schools will battle it out in this year's county fire safety quiz final at Telford Central fire station tomorrow starting at 10am.
A total of 34 county schools have already taken part in regional heats across the county with the winning teams going head to head in the final.
The teams taking part are from schools in Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Telford and Newport.
They are: Oswestry School, Newport High School, The Grange School, Wrockwardine Wood, Adcote School, Sutherland School, Ercall Wood and The Priory.
Hundreds of year 7 pupils have been studying scores of facts, figures and expert advice compiled into a 28 page magazine and accessed on the Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service website at www.shropshirefire.gov.uk
Teams were chosen to represent individual schools in four regional heats of the Be Cool Be Safe "life skills" safety quiz.
It teaches 11-year-olds all about general safety including tips on how to stay safe with fire, water, on the roads and railways, how to deal with school bullies, facts on alcohol and tobacco, and what to do in an emergency.
Road safety officers', police, fire, Community Safety Partnerships, and alcohol and drug professionals have all contributed to the information.
Community Fire Safety Office Sam Hamer congratulated the regional winners and all the youngsters for taking part and wished them well in the final tomorrow.
"Pupils have worked extremely hard to study a vast amount of information. They had a great deal of knowledge and their behaviour was exemplary."
A total of 6,000 booklets were delivered to schools for teachers to use as part of a lesson plan.
Hundreds of schoolchildren will celebrate with a post quiz party at a local night club in Telford and Shrewsbury in May to mark their efforts.
