On Monday, 19 January 2009 a presentation evening was held at Shrewsbury Fire Station for firefighters who have completed their recruit training.
The evening was a way of acknowledging the efforts of the recruits in reaching this stage of their development programme and officially welcoming them in to the organisation. The Chief Fire Officer and Chair of the Fire Authority Councillor Stuart West presented the recruits with certificates, course photos and a DVD containing photos, taken during their training course. There were also instructors and top student awards for a number of recruits from each course, which were presented by staff from the Training and Development Centre.
During the evening the commitment of the recruits' families and employers was also acknowledged, with employers receiving plaques.
Below is a list of firefighters who attended and those who received top student and instructor awards. Also listed are the employers who attended and received plaques as our way of acknowledging their commitment to Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.
