Press release from Shropshire Council.
Shropshire residents can come together to shape public sector equality procedures.
Shropshire Council, in partnership with Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service and Shropshire County Primary Care Trust, is hosting two Equality Improvement Workshops.
The first workshop will be held at 3.15pm next Tuesday (14 July) at Oswestry Fire Station; the second on Wednesday 15 July at 1.30pm at Ludlow Assembly Rooms. The organisers invite people from all walks of life and all backgrounds to get involved and share their views on issues including disability, race, gender, sexual orientation and religious beliefs. Refreshments will be available during the afternoon.
Councillor Liz Parsons, Shropshire Council's member champion for equalities, is encouraging local residents to get involved and make a difference to their community. "The involvement workshops for equality improvements will help Shropshire Council, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service and Shropshire County Primary Care Trust to shape a Single Equality Scheme for our county, and it is paramount that local residents let us know their views. Working in partnership, we can ensure that public services are provided in a consistent manner, so I would encourage you to come along and let us know your thoughts."
