A spate of suspicious late night vehicle fires at residents homes in Telford is being investigated by both police and fire officers.
Five fires in the Ketley area over the past month have involved three caravans, a boat and a car.
"We are working closely with West Mercia Police who are investigating these incidents which may or may not be linked," said Derek Taylor, fire crime officer with Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, who urged householders in the area to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
To avoid an arson attack, he asked residents to securely lock vehicles and caravans which should not, if possible, be parked too near buildings. Doors, garages, sheds and ground floor windows should be locked to deter an intruder.
Rubbish should be put out for collection as late as possible and not overnight.
"Identify possible intruder routes and consider what can be done to prevent such access by locking gates and perhaps installing security lighting," said Mr Taylor.
Flammable materials should also be properly stored and securely locked away.
If you have any information about the fires contact police on 0300 333 3000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
