Principal Dr Gill Eatough invited everyone to Hadley Learning Community to be part of their multi-cultural, community Mela on Tuesday 25th November 2014 to celebrate Eid and Diwali. Shropshire Fire Rescue Service were proud to a part of the event. There were lots of stalls, fantastic food and entertainment for everyone. All proceeds raised were donated to Children in Need.
Sajid Younis, organiser of the event and teacher at Hadley Learning community said ‘it is important that we celebrate and share our cultures to promote community cohesion and to foster better understanding among people from diverse backgrounds. Hadley is one of the areas in the Telford Borough where people from diverse backgrounds live together in peace and harmony and understand and respect each other’s cultures – and these type of events are the best opportunity for local people to come together and see how different people celebrate their festivals.
