Bikers across Shropshire and beyond are reminded that this Sunday (24th June) is Shropshire BikeFest, an exciting new biking event being held at the Meole Brace Park and Ride, Shrewsbury – which is totally free to attend! The Safer Roads Partnership in West Mercia has joined up with West Mercia Police, the Institute of Advanced Motorcyclists, RoSPA, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service and Shropshire Council to organise the event which will kick off at 10.00am this Sunday. There will be many attractions at the event including free observed ride outs, displays from local dealers, arena displays, free workshops and competitions to win loads of biker goodies. A free ‘biker experience’ area will also be on offer where novice riders can try out scooters and low powered machines in a safe environment. Some amazing VIP’s will also be present at the show for visitors to have their photo and autographs with. Vicki Bristow from the Safer Roads Partnership said: “It promises to be a great day out for riders. It doesn’t matter if you’re thinking about buying a bike or just getting started, or have been riding for years and are an experienced biker there will be something there for everyone. Come along this Sunday and find out for yourself!” Tom Davis, Chairman of Shropshire And Powys Advanced Riders “The Shropshire Bike Fest is a brilliant opportunity to get your riding assessed by Advanced Training groups. Visit the RoSPA and I.A.M stands and talk to the people who can help you become a Smarter, Smoother, Safer rider. It's never too late to improve your riding. We look forward to meeting you this weekend!!. The event will run from 10.00am to 4.00pm at the Meole Brace Park & Ride, Shrewsbury.
