Police in Telford are investigating after a car fire in Wellington.
The incident occurred near Saville Close in the early hours of Friday 10 August.
At 2.15am a member of the public called the police to report that a car was on fire in a car park just off the street. Police officers and the Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service immediately attended the scene and the fire was extinguished successfully without it spreading to any other vehicles.
A police spokesman said:

"A significant amount of damage was caused to the roof, rear bumper and engine compartment of the car as a result of this incident.
"Forensic officers have attended the scene to look for possible evidence while officers investigating this suspected arson are also keen to hear from anyone who believes they may have information about it.
"Anyone who believes they may have information about this incident is asked to contact police in Telford on 0300 333 3000, quoting reference number 46S 100812.
