On 4th October the Asda Donnington store was the location for part 2 of Donnington Partnership's successful Operation Clean sweep Three E campaign, which was a day of providing Education, all things to do with the Environment and information about Enforcement tools used against persistent offenders.
A large number of service-providers including Telford & Wrekin Council, West Mercia Police, Neighbourhood Watch, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, CAB, Wrekin Housing Trust, Homestart, Waste Not Want Not and the Primary Care Trust were present at the store to give advice and information about their different services.
The day follows on from Operation Clean sweep, which ran in July where officers from several different organisations concentrated their efforts visibly with additional patrols and personnel on the street to make the area cleaner, safer and by giving people information on how to report incidents. Action was also taken to carryout certain environmental work and enforcement action gave some high results against persistent offenders.
Whilst shopping at Asda members of the public benefited by arranging appointments for the Fire Service to visit their homes to fit a free smoke alarm and give advice about home fire safety, information was provided about child seat belts, recycling/ re-using and environmentally friendly products and people were on hand to give advice about help in preventing anti social behaviour, debt and benefits advice and help to stay healthy and gain weight loss.
