The dramatic rescue of a person trapped in a car following a crash will take centre stage at Telford Fire Station’s Open Day, Stafford Park, on Saturday 20th August 2016 from 11am – 4pm.
In addition to this there will be plenty of fun and exciting things to see and do with a real chip pan fire demonstration, squirting water and a demonstration from the Aerial Ladder Platform.
This family friendly event will also feature various static displays of some of our specialist appliances including; boat, animal rescue team and rescue tender, and the 6 wheeled all-terrain vehicle from Church Stretton.
We will be supported by the Midlands Cave Rescue, Severn Area Rescue and local policing team (and others) who will also be showcasing some of their equipment and skills.
Safety is the key ingredient of the powerful messages which will be portrayed on the day while also showcasing to the public the wide variety of work undertaken by Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, and our closest partners.
Children will be able to experience the interactive smoke tent teaching them how to escape from a smoke filled house. The Community Fire Safety team will be on hand to give out advice and answer any question the public may have.
There will be refreshments including a live kitchen and ice cream van, bouncy castle and a number of stalls at the open day, come down and meet your local firefighters; free entry and parking.
