A woman and a child were rescued from a serious house fire in Oswestry in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 16 December).

The Service received the call at 11.58pm and attending crews from Oswestry found the house well alight. Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service has spent the morning tackling a large fire in Telford.

Fire control received reports of a property fire at 1am Wednesday 1 December at Halesfield Industrial Estate and 12 appliances from around the county were deployed, including the Service’s Command Support Unit (CSU), Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) and support pumps.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service is highlighting the importance of smoke alarms following a house fire in Sutton Hill, Telford.

The Service was called at around 2pm on Sunday 31 October to Southgate where a fire had started in a bedroom of the property.
