Police today issued an appeal for witnesses after arsonists are thought to have set fire to a car and trailer outside a Market Drayton home. Tyres exploded as flames destroyed the green Peugeot 306 outside the address in Chestnut Road. It’s thought the vehicle was set alight at around 1.15am and the alarm raised about 10 minutes later as one of the tyres exploded waking the owners. Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service attended a car fire in Dark Lane Drive, Dawley, Telford at 02.52am on 5th February.

The vehicle was totally destroyed and caused damage to the guttering and down pipe of an adjoining garage.

Two crews from Telford Central and Tweedale attended, together with a Fire Investigation Officer.

The fire is being treated as arson and is the fourth vehicle to be set on fire in this area the Dawley/Malinslee area in a week.

At 22.46pm on Wednesday 22nd January 2013, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a minibus fire on the car park of Brackenfield, Brookside, Telford.

One crew from Tweedale attended and the fire was extinguished at 23.04pm.

A Fire Investigator was called out the cause is being treated as arson.
