On Sunday 2nd September Bridgnorth Fire Station and staff hosted the first Fire Fighters Charity motorcycle ride out to be organised in this region.

Around 60 motorcycles and riders from all over Shropshire and West Midlands gathered at the Station to register and enjoy some light refreshments provided by a local supplier in Bridgnorth, before setting out on the ride.

An Oswestry Man has who admitted Three Arson Offences in Oswestry has been deemed a ‘serious risk to the public’ and will serve a minimum three-and-a-half years.

A mother who set fire to the house where her children lived with her ex-husband while in a drunken rage has been jailed for three years, at Shrewsbury Crown Court last month.

The 43yr old from Wellington, lit paper with white spirit from a nearby garden shed before stuffing it through the letterbox of the house in Trench where her ex-husband and two children lived.

She started the fire on April 20 in an attempt to damage her ex’s motorbike leather jacket.

A brick outbuilding was damaged in an arson attack in Oswestry. Police are seeking witnesses to the fire in Swan Lane at around 12.30am on Tuesday 4th September 2012.

An old sofa inside the premises was set alight causing damage to the door and a length of guttering above.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service attended and police are investigating the incident.
