At 14:53 on Saturday, 17 February, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Market Drayton .
8 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Hodnet, Market Drayton, Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.
Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Hosereel jet
- Thermal imaging camera
Reports of barn fire, on arrival of crews this was discovered to be a building measuring approx 10 meters X 15 meters with small fire inside. Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish.

This incident involved one car in to the central reservation, no persons trapped. Crews removed car using the rescue tender from Wellington. Vehicle made safe and oil and debris removed from carriageway.
