At 12:21 on Saturday, 16 November, 2019, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue in Whitchurch.
3 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Wellington and Whitchurch. An Operations officer was in attendance.
Attending crews used the following equipment:
Also at the scene of the incident were: a vet.
Horse stuck in water filled ditch, rescued by fire crews using light portable pump to stem the flow of water in the ditch and specialist animal rescue equipment, with assistance from farmer with tractor, to lift the horse free.
