At 14:18 on Saturday, 2 December, 2017, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Water Rescue in Sidney Avenue, Shrewsbury .

4 fire appliances were mobilised from Baschurch and Shrewsbury.

Report of person in the river. Crews carried out thorough search of river with no persons found. Search being discontinued due to nightfall.
